Elder Lewis Frasier

          Founder of Solomon Temple Church of Christ - 1955

Elder Lewis Frasier was a pillar in the Midway, Georgia, community which he helped to expand and flourish over the many years of his life. 

Elder Frasier was born on April 16, 1904 to Jacob and Katherine Frasier.  He lived in Liberty County where his parents owned land and was the eighth of ten children including seven sisters and two brothers.  Elder Frasier attended school at Dorchester Academy, a historic site in Midway, and began his career in the pulpwood industry.  Elder Frasier owned and operated Lewis Frasier Pulpwood Co., owned a convenience store, was president of Dorchester Federal Credit Union, farmed and raised cattle on Lewis Frasier Road, was the first black member of the Board of Education, helped acquire land for Liberty County High School (LCHS), served on the PTA for LCHS in Midway, founded and pastored the Solomon Temple Church and was field supervisor for the Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord.

He enjoyed singing and working in the church. He helped many young people obtain jobs and begin their careers, and was instrumental in sending several students to college.  

Elder Lewis Frasier was married to Florence Frasier.  They have three children: Elizabeth, Willie, and Annie.  Elder Frasier died on Thanksgiving morning in 1974. The family described that day as the "Coldest they can remember, windy, and cold", indicating a true loss to the community of Midway, Georgia. He is buried in the Solomon Temple Church Cemetery in Midway, Georgia.

Solomon Temple is one of many Churches that fall of the Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord, Incorporated; Savannah, Georgia, which is centered around Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Solomon Temple has 70 years of bringing sinners to Christ and saving souls.

Solomon Temple Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord was established by Elder Lewis Frasier in 1955 and organized by the following first members and 5 families:

  • The late Overseer and Elder Lewis Frasier and National Mother Florence Frasier
  • The late Deacon Joe Walthour and Sister Annie Walthour
  • The late Brother Richard Walthour and Sister Elizabeth Walthour
  • The late Brother Alexander Butler and Sister Eliza Butler
  • The late Deacon Wallace Roberts and Sister Ophelia Roberts
